Offer of the Division of Theoretical and Applied Electrical Engineering:

  • Conducting power balances in electrical systems of facilities, assessment of energy quality and the need for reactive power compensation. Research and analysis of the effects of higher harmonic currents and voltages in power supply networks of commercial facilities (industrial plants, banks, shopping malls, IT centres, offices, service facilities, etc.), as well as in various types of electrical installations (lighting systems, air conditioning and ventilation circuits, powering IT systems, etc.).
  • Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) for facilities - selection and functional analysis of uninterruptible power supply systems (UPS, generating sets).
  • Performing a technical and economic analysis of the operation of RES systems (selection of elements of photovoltaic installations, wind turbines and hybrid systems, the use of economic indicators, e.g. LCOE method and advanced statistical methods). Measurements of operational parameters and analysis of the operation of PV installations.
  • Optimization of the structure of hybrid solar-wind power systems connected to the power grid (on-grid or off-grid), without energy storage and with energy storage. Design and selection of elements of solar-wind hybrid installations for geographic location and receivers with known load characteristics.
  • Selection of electrochemical energy storage for receivers characterized by dynamically changing loads, such as electric vehicles and systems cooperating with renewable sources of electricity. Modelling the operation of electrochemical electricity stores, in particular lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries, supercapacitors and systems with hybrid configurations. Modelling of the state of wear of electrochemical energy stores (lead-acid batteries, lithium-ion batteries and supercapacitors).
  • Analysis of the energy consumption of motor vehicles with particular emphasis on the electricity demand.
  • Development of optimization tasks for electrical devices, systems and systems.
  • Research and analysis of the impact of slowly changing magnetic and electric fields on the environment (human and technosphere) - field measurements.
  • Analysis of electromagnetic, light and coupled fields. Measurements and assessment of electromagnetic field hazards (electromagnetic compatibility), including hazards related to the formation of electrostatic charge. 
  • Simulations of the distribution of the magnetic and electric field under the overhead power line for the existing modernized and designed facilities. 
  • Simulations of the inductive impact of overhead power lines on underground pipelines in the places of existing and newly designed route close-ups. Performing potential measurements on the route of the underground pipeline to assess the effectiveness of the cathodic protection installation.
  • Testing of electrical and electronic systems, including electrical installations. 
  • Measurement of noise generated by electrical devices.
  • Design, research and programming of microprocessor control systems.
  • Design of dedicated microprocessor controllers as well as control algorithms for PLC controllers.
  • Design and implementation of supervision and monitoring systems and systems for intelligent buildings.
  • Design of microprocessor measurement systems. Performing measurement systems (with dedicated software) based on measurement cards, e.g. by National Instruments, MSDAQ and others. 
  • Development of numerical models of systems and phenomena in electrical and energy devices. Development of computer and internet applications. Optimization in the field of widely understood techniques. 
  • Research, implementation and development of SCADA control and visualization systems applications for industrial processes and electricity generation systems.
  • Application development in the following languages: C # (WinForms, WPF, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, Xamarin), C ++, Python, and Matlab for dedicated calculations in the field of widely understood electrical engineering (e.g. power flow, modelling power system elements, optimization), database (preferred MS SQL Server, MySQL databases and ORM tools).
  • Expert opinions on, inter alia, quality and innovation in the field of renewable energy, complex electrical systems, including lighting, IT systems, RES. Opinion on applications in the field of PV installations, hybrid systems and energy storage. 
  • Consulting in the selection, design and optimization of PV system solutions and hybrid power systems, evaluation of the technical and energy correctness of design and implementation of photovoltaic installations, economic reports and investment profitability assessments. Defining guidelines and recommendations for the design and use of hybrid solar-wind power systems for renewable energy.
  • Implementation of expert opinions and advice on the elimination of negative impacts in the field of overheating of ferromagnetic elements in the vicinity of high-current devices. 
  • Expert opinions on the safety, operation and causes of damage to electrical and electronic devices, testing the effectiveness and efficiency of earthing, and the impact of electrical and electronic devices on the power network. 
  • Development of opinions and expert opinions on the innovativeness of technical systems.

 

Offer of the Division of Power Electronics and Control:

Development of power electronics, measurement and control systems for:

  • Improving the power quality, including active energy filters (1- and 3-phase) with improved current quality indicators, FACTS systems, and electricity quality analysers. 
  • Electric drive, including specialized electric drive systems - with high dynamics and limited adverse impact on the load (electric machine) - including converters (SINVERTER) with sinusoidal output voltage.
  • Processing and storage of electricity - including electricity from alternative sources (the so-called RES), including converter systems for wind, hydro and solar power plants with improved energy indicators (i.e. efficiency, energy quality) with electric energy storage functions based on Li-ION and supercapacitors. UPS systems. Power supplies. 
  • Application in specialized equipment, including generators of reference energy signals. Power supplies for magnetic field applicators for magnetotherapy. Using modern SiC and GaN semiconductor devices, miniaturised power supplies for mobile equipment.

  • Calculation of electromagnetic field distribution in electrical devices.
  • Simulation studies of dynamic operating states of electromechanical converters in the field.
